What is a Price or Data Download? How long does it take?
Article Details

The data download comes through the Internet and can be done daily or as frequently as you like. There are two types of downloads:

a. Update Prices: this is quicker download and only includes current prices, high and low prices over the past 12 months, and high and low PE ratios over the past 12 months.

b. Full Data and Prices: only required when annual reports or interim reports are released. It includes all the fundamental data for all the companies for up to 10 years as well as current data just described.

Note 1: After performing a Price Update, if any companies have new fundamental data, their names will be displayed. This means that if you are interested in any of these companies, you can now perform a full download.

Note 2: After the data is downloaded, the software automatically does a large number of preliminary calculations. Depending on your computer speed, a download (including the preliminary calculations) may range from less than 60 seconds for a price download for the Australian market to over 10 minutes for a full download for the USA market. These preminary calculations make all the steps much faster when using the software.
